Het is moeilijk om hier mijn persoonlijke historie bij aan te geven. De Doors lijken er altijd geweest te zijn. De hoes was altijd aanwezig in de platenzaak.

Ik denk dat ik het heel lang met een cassette bandje gedaan heb en pas toen de LP op CD uitkwam een exemplaar gekocht heb. Dat verdient de plaat dus niet.

Voor wie enigszins vatbaar is voor de aanstekelijkheid van de Doors muziek is dit een grote aanrader. Alle songs zijn van grote klasse, met een vocaal schitterende Jim Morrison.

De Doors onder aanvoering van Jim Morrison hebben wel 2 gezichten, heerlijke meezingers, maar ook veelal hele zware soms theatrale nummers. Beide vind ik prachtig, er zijn weinig mensen die hun teksten met zoveel nadruk kunnen brengen als Jim Morrison.

Ik heb dit ook niet bewust mee gemaakt en kom nu dus tot de ontdekking dat er maar 1 single ("Light My Fire") van deze LP in 1967 in de Top 40 terecht is gekomen, en het slechts 2 weken vol hield! Het is dus nog goed gekomen met de waardering voor de muziek, maar raar blijft het.
